Rules & Safety

This event is a drug free event, NO forms of drugs or legal highs are permittable at any time (this includes poppers) All bags and persons will be checked upon arrival and any items confiscated. Whilst we want people to enjoy their day anyone who is intoxicated and unable to manage themselves will either be refused entry or asked to leave if they are already in the event.

  • No glass items will be allowed on site and all drinks will be served in plastic or reusable cups.
  • We operate challenge 25, any persons found attempting and or purchasing alcohol for those under the age of 18 will be asked to leave.
  • Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Any time that could be perceived as a weapon will be removed at entry and entry will be denied.
  • Photographs and videography will be used at the event and published for promotional purposes.
  • No under 18s in the main stage tent from 8pm.
  • No tents or pop up structures allowed on site due to health and safety.
  • There will be zero tolerance of ANY forms of discriminatory behaviour regardless of who the perpetrator is, this person will be asked to leave the event. This is a safe space for everyone, security and volunteers will be on hand to support anyone that is worried or if they need to report an incident.
  • Dogs are allowed and welcomed on site until 6pm unless they are guide dogs who have admittance all day.
  • Please be respectful when leaving the sire at the event is next to a residential area.
  • Artists and event attendees are asked to be respectful in their use of language in front of any children during the daytime for example: all comedy sketches will refrain from using swear words or explicit sexual language until after 6 pm. If parents allow their children to stay after this time, it remains the responsibility of the parents in what their child hears.

Dress Code

To try and allow everyone to attend and enjoy their day in a way that is relative to them the event is structured in a particular way. 12 – 6pm is arranged to be family friendly therefore there are dress restrictions in place, from 6 pm the event is geared for adults and there are less restrictions.

  • 12-6pm
    Clothes need to cover all of the areas that are considered private for example: areas that swim wear covers. We would ask that adults be mindful that there will be young children present.
  • 6-10.30pm
    Wear whatever you like! Parents are advised this time is adult based therefore there may be items of clothing that do not cover the swim wear area.

Admission

Pride:MK is proud to say due to the amazing support from our sponsors we are able to make the event completely FREE OF CHARGE!

Please note all attendees will be searched on entry to the site for the safety of the event, staff, volunteers and attendees. We want to have a safe enjoyable day that is fun for everyone!

There is just one entrance into the event for the general public. Disabled entrance will be provided separately for ease of access.

No Under 18's are permitted without an adult after 6pm.

From M1 Junction 14

  • Exit the motorway at Junction 14
  • At the first roundabout, take the third exit on to the A509
  • At Northfield Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Childs Way (A4146)
  • Go over the next 3 roundabouts
  • At the 4th roundabout take the third exit onto Enmore Gate
  • At the next roundabout take the first exit on to Avebury Boulevard
  • At the next roundabout take the first exit on to Avebury Boulevard
  • Milton Keynes Central is well served by trains from London Euston and the North.
  • From the railway station turn right onto Grafton Gate
  • Take second left onto Avebury Boulevard
  • Continue up Avebury Boulevard past the main shopping centre on the left and X-scape on the right
  • Cross Marlborough St (V8) over the flyover and take first left onto the events plateau
  • The station is 25 Minutes walk away, the No.4 Bus takes you to outside Campbell park.
  • There will be a Unison bus giving free rides from the Rail station to Campbell Park
  • Santander Bikes will be on offer at the Rail station for use to get to Campbell Park.

NOTE: THE POST CODE FOR THE ENTIRE PARK IS MK9 4AD. THE FESTIVAL SITE IS AT THE WEST END OF THE PARK, CLOSE TO THE TOWN CENTRE.

Accessibility

The Pride:MK team have worked with disability groups to try and make this event as accessible as possible. What we have done:

There is a disabled persons entrance that allows cars to enter, the team have liaised with local wheelchair suitable taxi companies in MK and they are making sure they have plenty of staff for the day.

There are more accessible toilets placed near this entrance, we have a mobiloo with a hoist and larger ones to accommodate a chair. All of the site is accessible on flat ground but if it rains before the event please note it is grass.

Accessibility tent.

There will be wheelchair charging points in the tent which is near the allocated entrance. There will also be a rest space for guide dogs with water available as it will be a busy day and we understand both owner and dog may need a break.

Sensory tent.

There will be a space that is quieter for anyone who has sensory needs, we plan to put some nice lighting, soft music and some soft places to sit. Is anyone is feeling anxious or worried they can either have some time in here or find a volunteer who can direct you to some support.

The group has taken advice from Access Ambassadors regarding supporting people from the deaf or hard of hearing community. There will be a stall on the day where anyone attending that needs support can meet a BSL support worker who will walk around the event with them. Please note that these will be volunteers so be patient if no one is available.

Main stage.

The team are working on how to make the performances accessible, there will be a viewing platform for anyone with either mobility, visual or auditory needs, we are working on either a BSL signer for performance or text on a screen.
